Setting up the All In One SEO plugin:

After installation and while logged in to your Dashboard
Click on Settings on the menu at your left
Click on All In One SEO
Here you will find some options for your website. Below are the options that I change for each website. I leave all other options in their default state.
Click on the radio button “Enabled”

Home Title –60 characters

One of THE most important keyword places for Google.
You should include the name of the city where most of your customers live.
Add the best keywords that describe your service/product. Get Google Keywords –See above
You can use up to 60 characters so include more than one variation of your keywords

Home Description –150 character limit

Since this is the homepage,the desription should define what your whole site is about. Make sure you include the cities you serve here as well. The description should be a short summary in sentence form.

Home Keywords –256 characters

If you don’t know your best keywords,use Google’s Keyword tool. Google Keywords
Enter keywords separated by commas

All-In-One Plugin Options on Each Page/Post

Use the features of the plugin on each page/post that you make. The “Title”is most important and you should use keywords here that you didn’t use on your homepage,including more cities that you service,or alternates of your top keywords.

Additional Home Headers:

Add another Title to your page (a slight variation is good) –Don’t forget to include your business name for the people searching for your business on the internet.

Left Sidebar Text Widget

I learned of the importance of keywords in the left-hand sidebar by accident. I had begun the process of setting up a website and had added a weather widget to the left sidebar. I later performed a search on Google and found the weather in the description of my client’s website! So,put your best keywords in a “Text”widget at the top of your left sidebar.
